Since starting my own blog, I've become increasingly aware of (and enthralled with) other blogs. In fact, a good majority of what I post here are things I've read about on other blogs. These are some of the recent additions to my ever-growing list. 

XYXX

XYXX is a photoblog (introduced to me by It's Nice That) which describes itself as "A visual conversation between two iphones and two lovers." And it's kind of amazing. I'm not usually one for emotions and sappy things like that, but I think this is superbly romantic. I know, barf, I'm sorry.

Yvan Rodic

Yvan Rodic is another photoblog I've recently been introduced to (this time by a friend of mine via Facebook). Not only do I want this dress, but this blog makes me wish I were Scandinavian even more than I already did.

I'm pretty sure I came across this on Twitter (but as those who know me can attest, my memory sucks big time) and I gotta say, I'm a fan. An entry for the redesign of dolla dolla bills.

Pretty much every night, I get in my bed and I think to myself "I should really blog about how much I love my bed." And then, well, I don't.

You see, I have a double bed, but when I went comforter shopping I found this adorable (and on sale) comforter set by Liberty of London for Target. The only problem was that it was a king size set. I mean it wasn't really a problem because I just bought it anyway. This means that my blanket is big enough for me to wrap my whole body in it and then use the excess to snuggle with. It's perfect.

Liberty of London is pretty awesome in general.

Theater Thursday

Allllrighty, I know I may have promised at least one of my readers (Lulu) a very special post about the great state of Wisconsin and all that it has to offer, but that is just going to have to wait. Mostly because I'm going back to good old WI in about a week and would like to save all of the amazing (read:tacky and badly taken) photographs for one mega post. Because that is just how I roll.

So instead, I'm going to share some videos with you. Now, I've never posted a video on this beast before, so get ready for the ride of your life. Just kidding, you won't really be able to witness the inevitable hours it is going to take me to figure this shit out.

Well, turns out it only took about three minutes. Lucky me, I'm a genius. So here's the first thing I want to share...

This is 7 minutes of things being smashed in slow motion (discovered via GOOD's Twitter, I highly suggest it). It's pretty entertaining.

This reminded me of a video I found while I was interning at the ILN in London (don't ask me what they do, I'm not real sure) and I had quite a bit of free time on my hands. Plus I was all over the internet collecting contact information and often I got sidetracked. And anyway, this is something I found while working. Don't tell my bosses.

Anywhoser, being the online wanderer that I am, I had to check out the website of the guy who directed this, because obvi the rest of his stuff is probably as great. And well, I didn't actually get a chance to watch all of it (because I'm at my job at a library and it's frowned upon, fun suckers) but I DID watch this trailer for a weird-ass show called Food Party on a channel called IFC (which I've never even heard of). I don't really get it, but I sure as hell want to watch it after seeing this beast. According to Dean Fleischer's website, it will "melt your pussy off" so maybe you shouldn't watch it. I dunno, I think I'll risk it.

And now I'm going to close up this god forsaken library of hell, go home and watch the rest of the stuff on his website. And so should you. And then I'm going to figure out what the H IFC is (besides obviously International Fighting Championship) and watch all their shows. I also plan to make a pizza, if you must know.

I know, I know....

...this is the first time I've posted anything in about a decade, but seriously, I'M A BUSY PERSON!

Just kidding, I'm just sort of lazy. And now I have 3 million things I want to tell everyone and it's going to take about 5 new posts to get through it all. So here goes.

So first off, I just want to say that I think the reason I don't update this beast as often as I should is because I make too much of the process. I open about a million tabs and save a million pictures to my desktop and then I begin to write. And by that time I'm basically worn out and in need of a nap. So from now on, I'm going to do my very best to update as soon as I have something to say, instead of waiting for 100 things to accumulate and then getting around to it a week later. Phew, glad that's off my chest...
But ANYWAY. The point of telling you that was to introduce a genius thing that would make my uber multi-tabbed life MUCH easier. And that is Tab Candy. Soon, Tab Candy will be a function of Mozilla Firefox that allows you to visualize, organize and prioritize your tabs much more effectively. Therefor making my life a little sweeter. Can't wait for the full version to be ready!

I came across these lovely shoes via the OU blog. They are from an Etsy shop called Golden Ponies and all the shoes are hand made to order. Which is pretty classy. Plus they're freakin adorable.

I mean UrbanOutfitters has some pretty awesome shoes for sale of their own...like these cloth Mary Janes that are 2 pairs for $20.

Playing Grown Up

This one goes out to all of my "grown up" friends with "real" jobs and alll of that nonsense. This is a blog about being a grown up. Kind of. It is super cute though...check it out.

Dating

Dating is a large part of being a grown up (I think...) and this handy flow chart will help you out if you ever are skeptical about the how socially acceptable your date-of-choice is. The article that goes along with it (a column called The Non-Expert) is really funny too. These are all via The Morning News, an online magazine published every weekday, and I like it.

Trendy Tuesdays

Ittt's Tuesday! Trendy Tuesday (actually at this point it's technically Wednesday, but I started this post on Tuesday so it still counts) to be exact. I'm not sure how long I can keep up the alliterations, but I guess we'll find out!

Kicking off my very first Trendy Tuesday is.....my new favorite blog: Man Repeller! 

This blog focuses on how *some* trends in high fashion seem not to attract men. For example, harem pants and jeggings. Not only does this lady have a pretty bitchin sense of style (even if it does repel men) but she is also hilarious. I highly recommend it.

Next up is Gilt.

Now I'm pretty sure I've mentioned Gilt before (the website that does huge sales of rulll expensive things so that they're slightly less expensive...). And Gilt has turned me on to only about a million designers that I now am lusting after and definitely cannot afford. Not even a little bit. Just today, they sent me a notification of shoe sales from Madison Harding, Dolce Vita, and Boutique 9. Below are some of my favorite pics of the bunch.

I'm also pretty in love with the way these studs are kind of jumbled. Rough but playful.

Their jewelry is also pretty fab. I seriously considered actually buying some. Aand then I didn't.

Music Monday

Itttttt's Music Monday!

First up, I'll be featuring the blog that I stole the idea from! Howww nice of me.
Turns out, Urban Outfitters has a bitchin blog, and every Monday you can download 5 songs FO' FREE!

Second, I have recently attached my iTunes account to my credit card. This, was a BIG mistake. I have since downloaded like 5 albums, probably as many as I have downloaded in the past two years combined. What, you might be wondering, am I wasting my money on? Well I'll tell you, because that is what Music Mondays are for.

Albums One and Two: Bon Iver's Blood Bank EP and For Emma, Forever Ago. 

 Not only do I like that the album title and one song are obviously named after me, but I also enjoy the sounds of them. Bon Iver is super laid back and mellow, which makes for some good pilates music. My fave faves? Blood Bank, Flume, and Skinny Love. Skinny Love actually came to me a long time ago, from God knows where and I fell in love with it without really knowing who Bon Iver was. And then about a week ago, a drunken acquaintance of mine told me to check out Blood Bank. To be fair, he first told me the story line of the song and we then discussed the pros and cons of having a date at a blood bank. Which I still contest would be terrible.

Album Three: Lissie's Why You Runnin' EP

Lissie's sound is a little more folksy, which it turns out is kind of what I'm into currently. Weird. I was introduced to Lissie via Facebook when a friend of mine posted a video of her song Everywhere I Go which I have to admit I downloaded with the help of YouTube. I did legally download the CD, but I also pirated her cover of Kid Cudi's song Pursuit of Happiness, as well as a duet she did with Ellie Goulding, which led me to download a duet Ellie did with Erik Hassle, which is prolly my new fave fave. It's called Be Mine and it's a cover of some band called Robyn.

Album Four: Damien Rice's 9

So basically, I really like the song 9 Crimes and got a little over excited and downloaded the whole CD. I mean, it's not bad, but that one song is just rul great.

Album Five: Sigh No More by Mumford and Sons

I began my obsession with Mumford and Sons when I heard their song on Sirius radio channel Alt Nation and ran home to look them up and download their shit. Mumford and Sons are amazing for a number of reasons. One, they're British and nearly everything British is amazing. Two, their song Little Lion Man is my fave fave. Three, I want to marry (or at least make out with) the lead singer, Marcus Mumford.

So that concludes the first (of possibly a few) Music Monday.
