I know, I know....

...this is the first time I've posted anything in about a decade, but seriously, I'M A BUSY PERSON!

Just kidding, I'm just sort of lazy. And now I have 3 million things I want to tell everyone and it's going to take about 5 new posts to get through it all. So here goes.

So first off, I just want to say that I think the reason I don't update this beast as often as I should is because I make too much of the process. I open about a million tabs and save a million pictures to my desktop and then I begin to write. And by that time I'm basically worn out and in need of a nap. So from now on, I'm going to do my very best to update as soon as I have something to say, instead of waiting for 100 things to accumulate and then getting around to it a week later. Phew, glad that's off my chest...
But ANYWAY. The point of telling you that was to introduce a genius thing that would make my uber multi-tabbed life MUCH easier. And that is Tab Candy. Soon, Tab Candy will be a function of Mozilla Firefox that allows you to visualize, organize and prioritize your tabs much more effectively. Therefor making my life a little sweeter. Can't wait for the full version to be ready!

Handmade leather brogues for $40?!

I came across these lovely shoes via the OU blog. They are from an Etsy shop called Golden Ponies and all the shoes are hand made to order. Which is pretty classy. Plus they're freakin adorable.

I mean UrbanOutfitters has some pretty awesome shoes for sale of their own...like these cloth Mary Janes that are 2 pairs for $20.

Playing Grown Up

This one goes out to all of my "grown up" friends with "real" jobs and alll of that nonsense. This is a blog about being a grown up. Kind of. It is super cute though...check it out.

Dating

Dating is a large part of being a grown up (I think...) and this handy flow chart will help you out if you ever are skeptical about the how socially acceptable your date-of-choice is. The article that goes along with it (a column called The Non-Expert) is really funny too. These are all via The Morning News, an online magazine published every weekday, and I like it.

Yep, those are sculptures made out of pencil lead (I mean graphite) done by someone with extremely high levels of craftsmanship and more patience than I have the patience to think about.

Trendy Tuesdays

Ittt's Tuesday! Trendy Tuesday (actually at this point it's technically Wednesday, but I started this post on Tuesday so it still counts) to be exact. I'm not sure how long I can keep up the alliterations, but I guess we'll find out!

Kicking off my very first Trendy Tuesday is.....my new favorite blog: Man Repeller! 

This blog focuses on how *some* trends in high fashion seem not to attract men. For example, harem pants and jeggings. Not only does this lady have a pretty bitchin sense of style (even if it does repel men) but she is also hilarious. I highly recommend it.

Next up is Gilt.

Gladiators by Madison Harding

Now I'm pretty sure I've mentioned Gilt before (the website that does huge sales of rulll expensive things so that they're slightly less expensive...). And Gilt has turned me on to only about a million designers that I now am lusting after and definitely cannot afford. Not even a little bit. Just today, they sent me a notification of shoe sales from Madison Harding, Dolce Vita, and Boutique 9. Below are some of my favorite pics of the bunch.

Moving on...next is my new fave accessories brand, Matt and Nat. 

So this is less exciting than some of their other items, but I'm really digging the squareness of the backpack. Plus that chain thing? Nice.

I'm also pretty in love with the way these studs are kind of jumbled. Rough but playful.

Aaand another studded clutch, because how could you possibly only have one.

Their jewelry is also pretty fab. I seriously considered actually buying some. Aand then I didn't.

While we're on the subject of necklaces, why don't we just hop right on over to Cursive Design which I found through Urban Outfitter's blog (which, as I mentioned yesterday, I'm in love with).

Sweaters for your laptop!

The Post Family creates these adorably cozy sweaters for laptops out of...you guessed it...old sweaters. I'm a fan of the retro look and I just may buy one. Or I might make a trip to the Church Mouse and make one my damn self.

One MILLION Things

A lot of things have caught my eyeballs in the past...24 hours or so. Let's just start with the most recent and work our way backwards! PS - I just found a folder on my computer named "Things I Like" and another called "Pretty," both of which were chock full of images. You'll be seeing some of them today, and some of them at a later date.

1/ Keds Collective and Amy Ormond

 Keds Collective is a collaboration between Keds and designers, artists and musicians and the results are pretty effin great.

2/ One Minute Portraits by Benjamin Hammond

The image kinda says it all.

3/ The Original Penguin

Tiny bit in love with these ultra preppy clothes. And the name is cute.

4/ The Glue Society

The Glue Society is a collective that does art and advertising, and other stuff too. The image is an example of one of their sculptures. Look closely, you can see that guy's junk.

5/ Freakishly adorable dishware by Finding Cheska

Again, the image says it all, but visit the website for more well-designed homewares.

6/ Words (FFFFOUND!)

Ffffound has about 50 of these bad pictures with words over them. Some of them are real dumb, but some are nice.

8/ Michelbergerhotel

This is one from my long list of bookmarks. It's the exterior of the Michelbergerhotel in Berlin. It's a pretty happening place, I've heard, and the interior's sweet as well.

9/ Food: I like food a lot, and these are my two current favorite things (besides, obviously, toasted baguette sandwiches with hummus and tomato).

9/1 Black Silk

The first is Folger's Black Silk coffee, which is black as night and I like it.

9/2 15 Grain Bread

The second is Pepperidge Farm's 15 grain bread; this bread is awesome and I'll tell you why. When I buy bread, I always have to decide, do I want some hearty whole grain bread that will have more calories and fat but be more satisfying? Or do I want the lighter loaf that is fewer calories but ultimately less satisfying? This is the PERFECT blend of the two. It's light on cals and fat but feels hearty. I'm clearly in love.

10/ Gilt Group and Thomas Paul

Gilt Group is a member's only sale website and one of their current sales is Thomas Paul who does some fantastic things with textiles.

One MILLION/ Perfect Job at Urban Outfitters

Found my perfect job, Women's Print and Artwork Designer, at Urban Outfitter's. Requirements include forecasting fashion trends, researching print and art trend directions, shop and observe street fashion and rework artwork into prints for the UO customer. Plus it may require some overseas travel...bonus. PS - love those brogues.

Today I went shopping for supplies to make my own headbands. Wednesday Lulu and I are going to be trying our best to actually make them; we'll see how that goes. I mean, obvi it will be fabulous...unless we eff it up. Then it'll just be funny.
